Basic principles of  Futsal:

Futsal develops a soccer player's skill in controlling the ball, passing and making accurate shots.

Rule 1. The futsal court is a standard basketball court with a 3-pt line (goal keepers area). All spectators must be outside of the court's white sidelines during game time.

Rule 2. A futsal game is played with 5 players (including the goalkeeper), with a maximum of 10 players on a team.

Rule 3. All players must wear shin guards (completely covered by the socks) and tennis shoes or shoes with rubber soles.

Rule 4. A futsal game is 30 minutes long (12.5 minute halves and a 5 minute halftime). Only a size 3 futsal ball will be used, no other soccer balls are allowed on the court.

Rule 5. Substitutions are unlimited and occur when the ball is still in play. The substitution zone is in front of each team's bench, where the outgoing player leaves the court first, then the incoming player enters.

Rule 6. Home team will kick off and the opposing team must remain out of the center circle. The ball is in play when it is kicked and can be shot directly into the goal.

Rule 7. Any player who kicks a ball onto the upper walls or at the ceiling will be substituted.

Rule 8. A free kick is awarded to the opposing team if a player commits any of the following offenses: Kicking, tripping, jumping at, charging, pushing, striking, spitting at, holding, or sliding at an opponent. After two violations, the player will receive a 2-minute time-out during which their team will play one person short or until the opposing team has scored one goal. If the foul occurs in the goalkeepers area, a penalty kick shall be awarded from the penalty spot, with all other players standing outside the goalkeepers area.

Rule 9. Backcourt defensive press will result in a free kick to the opposing team.

Rule 10. All shots on goal must occur in the offensive half of the court.

Rule 11. Punting by the goalkeeper is not allowed and will result in a free kick.

Rule 12. A kick-in results when the ball completely crosses the white boundary line, and shall be kicked-in from the place where it crossed the line.

Rule 13. Opposing players must be 10 feet away from a kick-in or free kick.
