Spring soccer has arrived in Marina. MYSA, in conjunction with the Monterey County Futbol Club (MCFC), has formed a Spring competitive soccer program to compliment our Fall program. MYSA's participation in spring soccer is developed according to the same philosophies of player participation and development established in our Fall program, and will help to develop a stronger soccer culture within the City of Marina. All MYSA spring teams will disband in July and reform in December so that players and coaches may participate in the MYSA Fall program. All MYSA players in the spring programs must have played at least one season of MYSA Fall soccer to be eligible to participate in MYSA spring soccer.
Specifically, MYSA has worked with selected Fall program coaches to develop MYSA Select teams to play competitive "travel ball" soccer within the MCFC US Club program. The MCFC competition soccer program represents the highest quality of youth soccer on the Monterey Peninsula. All Marina teams are called the MARINA SURF. New age divisions are added as qualified coaches are identified. The Marina Surf U9, U11 and U13 boys teams competed during the 2012 Spring NORCAL season, and will compete in the Santa Cruz Breakers Invitational Tournament July 28-29th.
